This adventurous, outdoorsy, culinary couple is who we would like you to meet today! With their love for all sorts of people and warm smiles, we are so excited to see how Nate and Carlene will grow in being a part of Rozelle Church Plant. Please read on, get to know these two and be praying for them through this church planting journey!
How did you initially hear about the church plant?
Via Mikey and various Cornerstone family.
At what stage or how are you hoping the church will be/look like in 3 years time?
God willing, a church that is made up of a motley crew of believers and seekers, and known in the local and wider community to be a church that is passionate in following Jesus and are his hands and feet in the community.
What ministries or community opportunities are you hoping to become a part of?
We are really excited about how we can get involved in the local community in simple yet practical and effective ways. Other than that, we are both open to seeing what God has in store for both of us.
With an unlimited supply of time, skills and ingredients what meal would you most like to perfect?
Nate: Carlene is the chef in our relationship. I am content with just eating her food. She does love using many utensils when cooking, so I have become quite a good dish pig.
Carlene: This is a tricky one for me as I love love love food and can’t think of one meal to perfect. I would love to go on a food tour in Europe or Asia travelling around and learning to cook from the local produce.
What is your favourite place in the world or Australia that you have visited and why?
Nate: I love the remote parts of Thailand. The local people are extremely friendly, and the climate, beaches, accommodation and food are hard to beat.
Carlene: PARIS! I would love to live there for a few months painting, learning French and living on cheese and Nutella crepes (not together!).
What would be your most ideal destination for a fishing trip and why?
Nate: Although I’m an extremely keen fisherman, my track record is not the best. Carlene would probably say the ideal fishing destination for me would be a fish farm or the Sydney fish markets. I really do need to get the fish finder working on my kayak.
Carlene: Anywhere where there is lots of sun and the fish are biting (I get easily bored when I have to wait more than 10 minutes for a nibble!).
How can people be praying for you both in general and with being a part of the church plant
Pray that God uses us both mightily for His purposes and that our love for him will grow more and more. Please pray for wisdom, guidance, boldness and protection. Please pray for opportunities with our friends and family to share Jesus with them.
